There is still optimism for the girls soccer team to take state. “We can take state. We just have to go in with the right mindset and play like we do in practice.” -Carlie Haslem (Dalton Agustus/ Vernal Express)

The Uintah Utes Girls Soccer Team won their home game against Spanish Fork High School last Tuesday, with a final score of 2-0. Players Annalise Lewis and Charlie Severson scored the winning points for the team..

“We talked a lot,” said Utes player Carlie Haslem. “We were just having fun and did really well with passes. We took lots of shots and had strong defense.”

“Our team kept passing and talked really well,” said Deidre Siddoway, another Uintah player.

“It was a good game,” said Coach Gary Redden.

This was the last Region game for the Utes, placing them third in the region. The girls now move on to the State Play-offs next week.
