That anyone would make even one derogatory remark about the student involved is absolutely disgusting in my opinion. The reputation of the girl involved makes absolutely no difference in this case, and alleviates no guilt on the part of the teacher if he is in fact guilty of any indiscretion.

A few people here seemed very concerned that we are judging this teacher too harshly. To say that what he did was wrong is not to judge him, if you want to leave that up to your higher power, fine. If others want to express outrage over his actions, so be it. Personally, I don't think we need to be reminded that G-d is the final judge every time we express disgust with someone's actions. Some of us don't even believe in G-d. More importantly, as a society we decide what is right and wrong here on earth and when someone violates trust, it's healthy to express our unhappiness with it. Also, we do not leave all judgement to G-d, if we did, there would be no legal system here. So, let others vent their frustrations, voice their concerns, express their sadness. There is no lynchmob running him down.

Mr. Bernard so happend to be one of my favorite teachers he was never touchy with me but like with most other students he did help me out i was having a hard time in jr. high and highschool with my addiction to drugs and he would talk to me and try to help me out but when i heard of this my first thought was total shock but then it went on to answering alot of my questions i have witnessed many of girls allways hanging out in his class room for hours at a time never guys unless they was not straight.... i do not agree with what he has done but it is not up to me to condemn him in any way i will leave it up to my higher power to put into the judges heart to do what needs to be done and when his time comes before god.... god will do what he sees fit as well.
