Golfers support Children’s Justice Center fund-raiser
The annual CJC Golf Tournament at Dinaland Golf Course drew 167 participants last Friday. The golfers were out in force to help raise awareness in our community about abuse — and to take their chances against each other and Nate Green, assistant golf pro at Dinaland. According to CJC Friends board chair and tournament organizer Shauna Harding, it is the local individuals and businesses that make the annual event so special. “Our tournament wouldn’t be the same without the loyal support of the golf community and their eagerness to play for the cause. The monies raised will go to help provide more education in our community to professionals and citizens through training and awareness events,” said Harding. Sponsors for the 2010 event included Basin Nickel Ads, C&H Distributing, Savage, Deseret Power Electric Cooperative, Alan Hacking, Inc., KVEL, Layton Construction, L&S Trucking, Vanguard Golf Management and Phil Timothy, Elkridge Energy, Northeastern Counseling Center, Halliburton, Gateway Saloon, Industrial Machine and Welding, Mountain America Credit Union, Foote Charles and Stearmer, Daggett County Attorneys Office, Edward Jones and Jason Woods, Matt Betts Trucking, Exit Realty and Susan Nebeker, Andy’s Communications, Ashley Regional Medical Center and Dr. Nolan Brooksby, Seitz Eye Care, Michael Smuin DDS, Anadarko, Advanced Title Company, Howcroft Field Services, Inc., Harding & Co., BIG Automation and Chris Bigelow, Golden Corral, RE/MAX and Mary Lou Dixon, Hank’s Electric of Vernal, Inc., Davis Food and Drug, ProRehab Physical Therapy and Jesse Rowell, and 7-11 Ranch Restaurant. “The Friends board and the Children’s Justice Center would like to send a sincere thank you to everyone who made this year’s tournament such a joy to experience. We appreciate your support and look forward to playing with you next year,” added Harding. The Children’s Justice Center of Uintah and Daggett Counties has served over 1,200 victims of abuse in the past three years. If you or someone you know has been a victim of abuse, contact the Children’s Justice Center at (435) 781-0105, or call 911.
