Local man dies in rollover
Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in deadly rollover crash on State Route 121 near milepost 32 east of Lapoint. Bryce Laroy Dingman, 31, died as a result of head injuries he sustained in the crash on the rural road. Dingman was a longtime resident of the Vernal area had been living in Grand Junction, Colo., although originally from Phoenix — according to his Arizona license he retained. Duchesne County road crews discovered the accident scene around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday while doing maintenance on SR 121, but the exact time and cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Utah State Highway Patrol spokesperson Rex Olsen. UHP trooper Dave Swenson reported that Dingman’s 2007 Dodge Dakota was headed west when he failed to make a left a curve in the road, running off the right side and rolling several times. Investigators believe the accident occurred sometime between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. Dingman, who was not wearing a seatbealt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. —Mary Bernard, Vernal Express
