Uintah Basin Fine Arts Show
by Mary Bernard Express Writer The Uintah County Western Heritage Museum will present a showing of fine art throughout the month of March in a showing called the Uintah Basin Local Artists Fine Art Exhibit . “We have so much beautiful art work on display this month,” said LeAnn Denzer, museum staff, of several different oil paintings. This year, the museum has 34 individual pieces by 13 artists. There are paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolors; pen & ink, pencil, charcoal, and colored pencil drawings; as well as pottery, wood, and mixed media offerings. Roughly, half of these pieces are available for purchase. Artists from Vernal include Jean Taylor-Starr, Diane Mixa, Merle L. Bartlett, Dale Jablonski, and Collette Jablonski. Artists from Roosevelt are Barbara Benson, Hazel Jensen, James E. Mumford, Carol Sprocich Dye, and Joyce Bolton. Artists from Myton are Jeri Harding and Neola are Linda Stover along with Yarnell Henri. The average number of pieces donated to the exhibit is three, although Dina Mixa provided six pieces in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. The public can see this Annual Fine Art Exhibit through the end of March at the Western Heritage Museum at 328 E. 200 S., Vernal, (435) 789-7399.
